About the Association

The decision to form an association was as a result of meetings with the Câmara de Óbidos and the Freguesia of Vau and their suggestion that we consolidate into a legal entity that would carry with it certain advantages and obligations. Acting on this advice, we have formed and registered our community as a non-profit association called the ‘Associação de Moradores da Pérola da Lagoa, Óbidos', with a committee consisting of 12 residents. 

Our Mission

To promote, protect and maintain the well-being of the Pérola da Lagoa area.

Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of the Association are as follows:

Represent

Represent and to promote the interests of residents living in the area.

Improve

Seek to improve conditions for residents in the area.

Partner

Work in partnership with the Câmara and other agencies to achieve its aims.

Protect

Protect owners' property and represent the interests of residents in consultation with the Câmara and other bodies to ensure PDL is maintained to a high quality standard, with good levels of security.

strong voice

Ensure that our members have a strong voice in key decisions and initiatives on how PDL is developed over the coming years.

Ecology

Promote awareness of the ecological importance of Óbidos Lagoon and help to protect its wildlife and environment.

Community Spirit

Promote a healthy community spirit.

Non-profit

The Association shall be non-party political, non-sectarian and non-profit.
